A New Gig!!

Effective today, I have entered the world of what University of North Dakota Sports Information Director (and good friend) Jayson Hajdu calls "spinformation". I am the new director of communications for the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. The official release if you care to read it can be found right here.

I am obviously very excited at taking on this position and I am looking forward in getting the SJHL name and brand out across Saskatchewan and Canada. I've always thought the SJHL was the best Junior A league in Canada and now I am a part of that organization.

While taking on this position, I obviously had to resign from my internet specialist job at Capital Ford Lincoln. I want to thank everyone over there. They are first class individuals and it was with some sadness that I did leave that position after just a couple of months. This was an offer though I simply couldn't refuse. If you are looking for a new or used vehicle, there is no better place to go than Capital Ford Lincoln. Cam Bottrell and his staff will treat you right. If you are going the internet route, Mitch Gallant, Tony Schlotter and whoever replaces me will make sure you have all the information you seek when you want a new ride.

Yes, you will be getting a lot of SJHL news on this blog. You will still get other tidbits of info as well.

A new chapter begins today. I think its going to be a pretty good book.

What about your career on the Rider's pre-game show? Is that done after 1?

Now if you could land another team in the South like maybe in Regina or someplace like that it would sure help the SJ out. Having a north team play in the south is just plain ludicrous.

Congrats Mitch! The first live hockey game I watched was the Yorkton Terriers and the North battleford North Stars WAAAAAAAY back in the 1980's. And even though I went to high school in Melville and had a locker right beside Brett Clark (then of the Millionaires, now of the Avalanche) I still am and will always be true to the Orange and Black of the Yorkton Terriers. The SJ is without question the best Tier II league in Canada.
