From Lemon-Aid to Sour Grapes---Shawn Lemon Traded To Toronto

The Toronto Argonauts have acquired international defensive lineman Shawn Lemon and a conditional 2018 CFL Draft pick from the Saskatchewan Roughriders in exchange for national offensive lineman Matt Sewell and international quarterback Mitchell Gale.

Lemon signed with the Riders as a free agent this past January after spending the latter half of the 2015 season with the Ottawa REDBLACKS. In nine games with the REDBLACKS, the 6-2, 251-pound native of Charleston, South Carolina registered 15 defensive tackles, six quarterback sacks, three forced fumbles and two tackles for a loss en route to assisting Ottawa to an appearance in the 103rd Grey Cup.

Matt Sewell (6’7 – 340) is in his third CFL season after originally being selected by the Toronto Argonauts in the 1st round (8th overall) of the 2013 CFL Draft. Through two seasons the 26-year-old McMaster product has played 35 regular season games.

Mitchell Gale (6’1 – 225) is a four year CFL veteran after originally joining the Argos ahead of the 2013 season. The 26-year-old Abilene Christian product has played 33 regular season games completing nine of 29 pass attempts for 100 yards and two touchdowns while adding 33 carries for 91 yards and one touchdown.

He's not wanted in Hamilton nor Montreal, not good enough. Good return for Sk in this transaction

Hey Scruff, did that d-bag you had the Twitter argument last night about the Lemon jersey get an Emry one last year? Didn't his departure from Ottawa leave some eyebrows raised? I'm not disappointed with this especially after seeing Leonard on Thursday.

Wasn't Lemon the guy who hit Lawrence during practice in Stoon? The lesson here---don't get in Jones' doghouse. Don't want or need guys like this on my team. Bailing on the first sign of adversity is a sign of weakness.

Newsome, Capicoti, Leonard, Norwood when he gets healthy. I'm OK with this and we add another Canadian OL to the stable. Jones isn't messing around. When some of the non-believers start to realize this, everything will be cool.

All the players you mention are hasbeens no longer to be on a Saskatchewan Roughriders roster with the exception of St John. Mr Chris Jones building a championship team, problem solved.

when you are making %750,000 per year than wasting a $85,000 bonus doesn't seem that bad - especially when its not your money

To the fools who don't get it, the bonus money forms a part of his salary. If there is anything owing the Argo's would make it up.
Chick did nothing on the weekend, Dressler didn't play and may not for a while, Smith was a non factor on Friday night, Price is doing nothing, Harris is 0-2 with a team heading nowhere.

St John has signed an extended deal and is in the program. Jones got a young starting Canadian O-lineman, QB and got rid of a bad attitude. We got bigger, better and much deeper in Canadian talent. And wasn't that that what the trolls and semi-trolls were bitching about?

Does no one see the pattern here? Getting rid of marginal assets and replacing them with depth and talent. Clearly Jones see more and knows more than any of the trolls. He has forgotten more about football than the majority will ever know. Wash your Dressler jersey and put it away, or move to to Winnipeg's IR.
