For the first time in history, the Regina Pat Canadians have won the Macs Midget Hockey Tournament in Calgary.
After going to triple overtime in the semi-final to advance, the Pat
Canadians showed no ill effects from that marathon game as they blanked
Red Deer 4-0 to win the 40th edition of the tournament.
Regina got a pair of goals from Jaydon Dureau with Matthew Culling
and Chase Nameth getting the others. Dureau also had assists on those
goals to have a four point night.
Jared Thompson had 16 shots to record the shutout.
The girls final went to Rocky Mountain, Alberta as they beat the Prince Albert Bears 6-2.
