CFL Upholds Mitchell's Suspension

The Canadian Football League announced today that an arbitrator has upheld BC Lions DT Khalif Mitchell’s two game suspension levied by CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon.

Mitchell will serve the suspension over the course of the next two Lions’ games.

Mitchell was issued the two game suspension for a play in which he performed an unnecessary, reckless act on Edmonton Eskimo offensive lineman Simeon Rottier on Friday, July 20.

“We welcome this decision and will continue to work with our players and their association to safeguard player health and safety,” said Mark Cohon, Commissioner of the Canadian Football League.

It's about time that A suspension was upheld! Maybe the commissioner has some clout after all.
