Wheat Kings Take 2-0 Lead On Pats

The Regina Pats need to find some success on home ice or they could be in danger of being swept out of the 2nd round of the WHL playoffs.

The Wheat Kings beat the Pats 5-2 Saturday night in Brandon to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Brandon took a 2-0 lead after one period, and while Regina closed the deficit to 2-1 and 3-2 they could not get the equalizer.

While the Pats are getting one defenceman back for Game 3 as James Hilsendager will return from a suspension, they may have another blueliner suspended as the league will be looking at a hit delivered by Sergei Zborovskiy to Brandon's Jace Hawryluk in the 3rd period.

Game 3 goes Tuesday night at the Brandt Centre starting at 7.

620 CKRM's Sportscage will be live from the rink starting at 4.

Was a fantastic building season for Pats. They made it to round 2 and will lose to a top 5 team in entire CHL (Brandon). Next two years will be the Pats time to shine.
