Riders 0-3 After Blowing Another 4th Quarter Lead

lions9

The Riders are 0-3 after losing their second straight game in overtime.
The green-and-white went into the 4th quarter with a 15-12 lead and they extended that to 10 points early in the 4th on a 1 yard run by Brett Smith.
However, for the third straight game, the team could not finish their opponents off and after a decision to gamble on 3rd and 1 in the final minute on their own side of the field failed, it allowed B.C to tie the game on a 55 yard Ronnie Leone field goal.
Instead of running some plays with 20 seconds left to try and get into Paul McCallum's field goal range, the Riders decided to take a knee and go to overtime.
The Riders got the ball to start overtime and had to settle on a McCallum field goal and that led to BC getting the ball and scoring a touchdown as Travis Lulay hit Emmanuel Arceneaux with a 4 yard pass to win it for the Lions who are now 1-1.
The two teams will meet again Friday night at Mosaic Stadium in an 8 o'clock start.

It's horrible to watch Taman and Chamblin destroy my beloved Roughriders.

Some people are equating this team to the Ti-Cats of last year and that's foolish. After a few losses last season, Austin changed up much of that team. He brought in better O-linemen, DB's and linemen, and anyone who could make his team better. Once he started to protect Collaros the tide turned. They also had Tillman finding talent. That won't happen here.

Some are living in a fools paradise thinking the talent here is great. At best it's mediocre and no better than any team in the league right now. Throw stats away as they're for losers. It's about winning. Because of this Taman won't upgrade this team and unlike Austin, nobody in the organization likely knows how to.

3rd and 1 when you have a 245 pound beast in the backfield and you keep it in the hands of the 3rd string QB. Am I the only one who just sees that as a dumb decision and one of many Chamblin made in the 4th.

Hear that flushing sound at Mosaic? That is the season going away under Chamblin and this new DC they got to replace the so-called terrible Richie Hall.

Since this team is specializing in bringing in old players, maybe it is time to replace Chamblin with some fresh blood in Ken Miller.

Taman brings in kickers to challenge for Milo's job, can't find any and settles on Milo. He craps the bed and we get McCallum because there was no one better.

I like Paul and he can still do the job, but how does Taman miss the boat on a kid who drops a 56 yarder between the uprights.

Nice scouting staff Brendon.

Wayyyyyyyyy too many flags. The CFL is killing its own product one play at a time.

I hear Taman and Chamblin are going to co-author a book.

It's called, How to turn a model franchise into the laughing stock of the league.

On sale soon.

I agree way too many flags. It was boring to even watch anymore. Going to lose a lot of viewers and fans if this keeps up.

I quit watching at half-time because of all the flags and everyone told me I missed a fantastic 2nd half.

My favourite football team has left me disgusted for a 3rd straight week.
Boneheaded decisions by coaching staff has led to 3 losses.
Play time is over kids. It is time to start playing some real football and quit screwing around.

Kneeling down when you have a chance to win. Why . Take a shot. If ya take a shot and it backfires, which is unlikely at least ya took the shot. Gutless coaching. Plain and simple.
