This One Will Leave A Mark

The Miami of Ohio University Redhawks have never won an NC double A championship at any sport. As the mens hockey team looked up at the scoreboard at Washington's Verizon Center, they led Boston University 3-1 in the championship game with a minute to play. It looked like history was about to be made. This is why you play until the scoreboard reads triple zeroes. The Terriers scored with 59 and a half seconds to play to cut the deficit to 3-2 and then they tied it with 17.4 seconds left. Boston University then capped the comeback as they scored in overtime to take the title and maybe perhaps give us this decade's "Miracle On Ice". One has to believe it will take quite a while for the Redhawks to get over this one. OUCH!!!!

Is it just me or has Tiger Woods lost some of his aggression. He has been very conservative at the Masters and it shows as he is seven strokes back going into the final round. Tiger just seems to be content with going around in par instead of taking that aggressive approach that we have come to see. As good as Tiger is, I don't think he has a hope of slipping on the green jacket later today. Angel Cabrera and Kenny Perry are tied for the lead at 11 under with Chad Campbell two strokes back. Jim Furyk is three off the pace and it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Furyk win it. I just wonder if Tiger has a 4th round charge in him and if so how close can he come. He can't win it can he???

BJ Ryan continues to be a major greasefire for the Blue Jays. He turned what looked to be a comfortable win over Cleveland into a nailbiter with another disaster and blown save. Ryan giving up 3 runs in the 9th before Jason Frasor came on to nail it shut. The Jays are 5-1 on the season. Citomania is afflicting many already and we're not even a week into the 2009 campaign. Relax Blue Jays fans...this won't last. It would be nice if it did but it won't. The cold slap of reality will soon hit this team across the face.

The Minnesota Wild did not make the playoffs thus Jacques Lemaire fell on his sword. After a season ending victory over Columbus today, Lemaire said he was stepping down after eight years behind the bench. The question now is whether or not Craig MacTavish will do the same thing. Many expect he coached his last game with the Oilers in a loss to Calgary on Saturday. This Oiler fan can not sugarcoat the fact that this season was a complete and total disaster. Steve Tambellini and Kevin Lowe have a major job to do during the off-season. I don't expect MacTavish to be the coach of this team but I don't think MacT will be out of work for long. It will be an interesting summer in Oilerville with the winds of change blowing through methinks.

This is not meant to be a slam to soccer but is there anyone in Saskatchewan who gives a rats you know what about Major League Soccer and Toronto FC. I didn't think so. If you are an MLS or an FC Toronto fan, it must be hard for you to talk about the sport or the team with someone because there is literally no chatter about that league or that team here.

Do Don Cherry and Ron Wilson have to get into the Octagon to put an end to their little verbal war once and for all? Cherry let the Leafs coach have it again last night. Say what you will about Don, I love the guy. I'm also not big on Wilson so if Grapes wants to take that sharp pokey stick to him, go for it!!

I've had enough of the hype for the NFL draft. Lets just get it done already. Where's the TSN mock CFL draft????

Have a happy Easter!! I hope rabbit stew is not on your supper menu tonight! I wonder what goes on at the Playboy Mansion on Easter Sunday. Then again, one could say as a man, I wonder what goes on at the Playboy Mansion any day of the year. What would it be like to spend an afternoon there. One can dream can't one????

I watched that game on the Score. Unbelievable.
The Jays will be better than the Yankees this year but they do need a closer because Ryan is terrible.
I would just like to stand in the lobby of the Playboy Mansion for five minutes...OK 10!!
Canucks vs Capitals in the Cup final. LOCK IT UP!!

Mitchell,

I love watching TFC games. It's a great atmosphere at BMO Field and I get my fix of chatting local sports everywhere I turn with the Pats & Riders. It's actually refreshing to follow TFC through the internet (they also have a significant national television presence) with people who appreciate the world's game.
