CanWest Honours For Rams Kicker

University of Regina kicker Andrew Fabian was named the Canada West Special Teams Player of the Week after hitting all four of his field goal attempts and scoring 15 points in the Rams’ 33-23 win over No. 7 UBC on Friday night in Regina.

Making his Canada West debut with the Rams after coming over from the Calgary Colts junior program, Fabian connected on field goals from 36, 34, 40, and 18 yards and was also a perfect 3-for-3 on point-after attempts.

“Andrew did a great job for us on the field goals on Friday, and he also punted extremely well,” Rams special teams coach Alex Smith said. “I expect that the kicking game will continue to be a strength of our team for the remainder of the season.”

Fabian also handled punting duties for the Rams, finishing with an average of 40.3 yards per punt including a key 37-yarder late in the game that forced UBC to start on its own 7-yard line trailing by seven points with just under two minutes left in the game.
