North Battleford’s Andrew Albers is going to be in a pennant chase.
The 31-year old pitcher was acquired by the Seattle Mariners on Friday from the Atlanta Braves for cash considerations.
Albers had the 3rd best ERA (2.61) in the International League where he was pitching for the Braves AAA affiliate. He was 12-3 on the season striking out 115 while walking just 19.
He has 17 career major league appearances with most of them coming as a member of the Minnesota Twins.
He joins a Seattle team battling several others in the American League looking for a wild-card spot.

Here's hoping for the best, that Andrew sticks in the big leagues as he's so deserved of that opportunity. A dedicated athlete to his chosen sport.
