Another trade for the Pats on Monday.

They are sending 19 year old defenceman Dawson Davidson, 16 year old forward Tristan Robins and a first round pick in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft to the Saskatoon Blades for 19 year old defenceman Libor Hajek.

The 2nd round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2016 NHL draft is coming off a performance for his native Czech Republic at the World Juniors where he had eight points in seven games.

In 33 games this year, the product of Smrcek, Czech Republic, has scored eight goals and has 17 assists for 25 points. In 167 WHL games, all with the Blades, Hajek has put up 15 goals and 62 assists for 77 points.

“We are really excited to add Libor to our club,” said Pats Head Coach and GM John Paddock. “He is among the best defencemen in our league and will be a big part of our team going forward.”

This is the 4th trade the team has made since the WHL Christmas break ended as they have added Jared Legien, Jesse Gabrielle, Jonas Harkins and Austin Pratt in deals with Victoria, Prince George and Red Deer.

The Pats are in action Wednesday at the Brandt Centre when the Edmonton Oil Kings visit in a 7 PM start.

Good player, but they're giving up a lot for a guy who is going to be here for a half-season.

Why do I sense this team being a league doormat for the next umpteen years like they were when Parker had to do a mid-season rebuild.
