Commissioner Gary Bettman will hear the appeal, though the date has not been determined.

--All four baseball playoff series were on Friday.  The Houston Astros hit four homers as they beat Cleveland 7-2 in Game 1 of their American League Divisional Series.  The Red Sox hung on to beat the Yankees 5-4 in the opening game of their best of 5 ALDS.  In the National League, Milwaukee is up 2-0 on Colorado after a 4-0 win and the Dodgers beat Atlanta 3-0 to go up 2-0.

--Conor McGregor will earn $3 million to show Saturday at UFC 229, tying his own UFC record for the largest purse in the history of the promotion. The Nevada Athletic Commission revealed purse details for each fight on the eve of UFC 229. McGregor's opponent, Khabib Nurmagomedov, will earn $2 million to show. McGregor and Nurmagomedov are set to battle for the UFC lightweight championship. Neither competitor has a win bonus attached to the outcome of the fight.

I don't understand these Player's Unions, here they are fighting for Tom Wilson.
Isn't the poor guy he nailed in the same union?
Are they saying it's okay to hit a guy in the head?

I just can't get a handle on Ottawa. What a schizophrenic group they are.
