What Did You Miss Saturday?

--Brett Lauther kicked four field goals and the Riders got defensive touchdowns from Zach Evans and Ed Gainey as they secured a home playoff game with a 35-16 win over BC. The Riders will host Winnipeg in the Western Semi-Final on November 11 if Calgary beats the Lions next Saturday night in Vancouver.  A Lions win means the Riders would finish first in the West and host the Western Final on November 18. They finish the regular season with a record of 12-6.

--After losing the longest World Series game in history Friday, the Boston Red Sox exploded in the late innings getting 9 runs off the Dodgers bullpen in a 9-6 win. Boston leads the Fall Classic 3-1 and will look to end it at Dodger Stadium Sunday with David Price on the mound. Clayton Kershaw has the task of sending the series back to Boston for the Dodgers.

--The Prince Albert Raiders moved to 15-1 on the season as they beat the Pats 6-3.  Regina is now 3-3 on the road this season.  The 3-11 Pats are home to Swift Current Sunday afternoon at 4 in a game you can hear on 620 CKRM.

--Leon Draisaitl and Drake Caggiula each had a pair as Edmonton beat Nashville 5-3 in NHL play.  The Oilers had lost their last 13 against the Predators.  In some other games,  the Canadiens beat Boston 3-0 as Carey Price won his 290th career game to move him into second all-time amongst wins by a Habs goalie and Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin each had a pair in Pittsburgh's 5-0 win at Vancouver.

--The Canada West Football regular season ended with UBC beating Manitoba in overtime and Calgary clobbering Alberta.  On Friday, the Huskies ended the Rams season with a 57-14 beating. The Hardy Cup semi-finals will see the Dinos home to Manitoba and the T-Birds welcoming the U of S.

--Four Jacksonville Jaguars players were detained early Saturday after an incident in London, where the team is to play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. In a statement, the Jaguars said the players were detained "over restitution of a bill." "The matter is being resolved, and the players are with the team," the Jaguars said. "Any discipline will be handled internally."The team did not say which players were detained. According to London-based news outlet The Sun, the players were accused of trying to leave the London Reign Showclub, which features burlesque and circus performers, without paying their tab.

Really liked what I saw last night. Real worried about Collaros though. I don't know if the Riders can win with performances like that by Bridge. Could N. Marshall learn the offence in two weeks if he had to? It's not like he doesn't know the position and its not like Jones hasn't taken a player from one side of the ball and moved him to the other.

Scruffy:

I know you don't do the post-game show, but can you tell me why it always comes off as so "echo-y". Listened to the show driving home last night, but it was very tough to do so. It's not the first time this has happened.

If there is a problem with location, can you move it to somewhere else? Very frustrating for me and I am guessing many others.

With the Riders off for a week, I am guessing we will be kept in the dark as to Collaros' status right?

With all the off season contract bs from James Wilder Jr where was he this CFL season? Player signing like that, no wonder the Argonauts football fanchise in trouble on and off the field of play.

700 fans in attendance Hamilton Tiger Cats game, 1300 fans in Regina at Saskatchewan Roughriders game (new stadium). What kind of league is the the CFL? Is it considered a profesdional sports league? Hamilton fans can be forgiven due to bad inclement weather, but Regina fans? No excuse for their pathetic dismal showing.

To anonymous under Tony, do ya think that whiz bang communications staff will do anything to inform us of Collaros's status until they come back. Of course not!
