The schedule for the 2011 Baseball Canada Midget (AAA) Championship was confirmed today by
chairman Cas Pielak. The 10-team tournament featuring players 18-and-under begins August 18th and concludes August 21st. Games will be played at Optimist Park and Currie Field.
Action begins at 9 a.m. August 18th with two games, Quebec against British Columbia at Currie Field and Ontario facing Nova Scotia at Optimist Park.
Saskatchewan will be represented by two teams, a host Regina team and the team that wins the Saskatchewan championship. The host team will see its first action against Alberta at 12 noon at Optimist Park while Team Saskatchewan will face Ontario in its opener, also at Optimist Park.
Official opening ceremonies will take place at Optimist Park at 6:15 p.m. August 18 and will be followed by the hosts taking on B.C. at 8 p.m. The tournament winds up August 21st with the bronze medal game at 1:30 p.m. , followed by the gold medal game at 5 p.m., both at Optimist Park.
Pielak also announced that advance tickets for the tournament will go on sale July 15th at Optimist Park. Full tournament passes sell for $25.00 and a family pack for two adults sell for $40.00. A day pass for games at either park will be $10.00 and single game ticket are $5.00.
Child under 14 accompanied with an adult are free.
