Riders Release Heenan

The Saskatchewan Roughriders released 2012 first overall pick Ben Heenan on Monday, giving him the opportunity to pursue NFL possibilities.
The 6 foot 4, 310 pound offensive lineman has played his entire three year career with the Roughriders and won a Grey Cup with the team in 2013.
The 24 year old Heenan, a native of Regina, can now sign with any CFL or NFL team.

Heenan isn't even close enough to being NFL caliber. Who is he trying to fool? His agent should be given a huge bonus for him even landing a tryout.

Good luck Ben!

Most of last year he was a turnstile.

He looked slow last year against CFL guys and now he's going up against faster NFL LB's and DE's. Good luck!

Has a CFL offensive lineman gone down and stuck? If he has, he's not starting. Good for Ben if he stays, but like Fantuz, you don't want to go down there to be a backup do ya?

nice comments so far (sarcasm font)...average salary for offensive linemen in the NFL is more than 1.7 million dollars...why WOULDN'T he take a shot down there? all the best to him...and if it doesn't work out and he's able to come to terms with the Riders again, great...but to trash a young man from behind a keyboard and screen is beyond brutal
