Something To "Mitch" About

--Is it really April already? Is it just me or is 2017 flying by?

ATTABOY ERIC - Never let it be said Eric Tillman doesn't do what he wants.  As he did a few years ago when he was with the Riders, Tillman committed the "cardinal sin" this week of releasing the Tiger-Cats neg list.  Good on him!  I've never understood why this list is protected, and I think it would benefit the CFL by having the lists out there. The more transparency the better, and the more fan engagement the better. That's what the league claims to want.  I don't have a problem with this, but I am guessing there are others that do.

7TH HEAVEN  - To I don't think the surprise of many, the Swift Current Broncos and Moose Jaw Warriors are going to go 7 games to see who plays the Pats in Round 2.  The series has been what everyone thought it would be, and I am guessing Game 7 at Mosaic Place tonight will be the same as the first six.  The question now is does whatever team that wins have the momentum going into Game 1 against a Pats team that is well-rested after a four game sweep which didn't really drag them down or does the team that wins coming off a gruelling 7 game matchup get the tank full and just keep rolling. Time will tell!

GOOD YEAR FOR REGINA HOCKEY TEAMS -  Lost somewhat in the shuffle of what the Pats have done this winter is the play of both the Regina Pat Canadians and Regina Capitals.  The Pat C's are off to another Telus Cup having won the West regional while the Capitals are going to the Keystone Cup having won the Saskatchewan Junior "B" title.

OPENING DAY -- Can the Cubs repeat? Obviously, I'm hoping that's the case, but the Dodgers, Mets, Indians, Red Sox and Mariners may have something to say about that as could some other squads and now I don't include the Twins in that statement. I also don't see Toronto as a playoff team. Sorry Jays fans.  There are too many questions about that pitching staff and closer Roberto Osuna is starting the season on the DL. At the end of the day, I won't be surprised if this year's World Series is a repeat of last year's seven game thriller.  I also wouldn't be surprised if Madison Bumgarner slaps out 20-30 homers this year, What an effort by the Giants starting pitcher on Sunday. 2 HR's. How can the Giants get him in the everyday lineup.

WRESTLEMANIA -  If I can help it, I don't miss Wrestlemania.  The WWE's marquee show came from Orlando, and if left a lot to be desired.  The Undertaker can't deliver a good wrestling match anymore, and it showed while Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg did the same move over and over in their match to I don't think anyone's surprise before Lesnar (the pride of Maryfield) won.  New blood is needed in the WWE. Perhaps we will start seeing that tonight as the first RAW after Wrestlemania starts writing the script for next year's show.  There were some good matches, but it was far tooooo long and not very momentous.  That's OK though, because it was still Wrestlemania! There were still some good moments, and some good matches. It wasn't the best, but it certainly wasn't the worst.

That's all I got.  Have a great week!

A great year for Regina hockey indeed. However, it means nothing if thte trophy case isn't full at the end of May.

The problem with WM was it was wayyyyyyy too long. If it starts at 5, end it by 9:15. That went until after 10. How is one supposed to stay engaged for that long?
