Riders Release Dressler

After six years as a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, it looks like Weston Dressler is going to get an opportunity in the National Football League.

The football team has announced it is releasing Dressler ahead of the time he would become a free agent on February 15 so he can seek NFL employment.

Dressler has been with the Riders since coming here from the University of North Dakota in 2008. In his six years he has had 5 1000 yard receiving seasons.

Although it is by no means confirmed, it looks like the Chiefs were impressed. Unless there is another NFL team in the mix that we haven't heard about. Good luck WD7.

If that's the last image we have of WD7 in green, what an image it is. Good luck Weston!

When can I get a Chiefs 13 jersey?

Just about teared up when he said he wants 13 to remember and honor Rider Nation. Class act!

Like Freeman is doing, represent the Riders well Weston. Thank you! You are always welcome back here, but I hope I only see you play on TV now.

If Weston signs with the Chiefs, I will be taking my un-numbered Chiefs jersey somewhere to get Dressler 13 on it.

I'm sorry, I just can't see Weston making it. He is almost 30 and he's tiny. He's making a mistake in my mind. Why leave a place where you are adored to go somewhere where you may never touch the field. Why?

Mitchy, your Seahawks don't have a 13 on their roster. Do you know something we don't!!?

Good luck Weston. Can't wait to see you on Monday Night Football!
