Riders Release Jonathan Newsome; Add Jeremy Zver

Citing a difference in philosophy, Riders head coach/general manager Chris Jones told reporters Tuesday after Riders practice that defensive lineman Jonathan Newsome has been released.  Jones would not get into specifics as to what differences were.

Before practice started, the team announced they have signed former Regina Ram Jeremy Zver.   The Regina product was taken with the 16th overall pick by the BC Lions in the 2017 CFL draft, but he was released a few days ago.

Get used to it. You'll see more of this (Lemon and Capucotti) because everybody on the team has a difference of philosophy to Calamity Jones.

Someone needs to enlighten me on what was so great about Newsome? He did what again?

Riders also told Davis Tull he wasn't needed. I thought he had a future. Looked real good from what I saw. Another Jones mistake!
