During the special teams period, first year Rider Ryan Smith showed a tremendous burst of speed as he returned a kickoff deep into the opposition end.

Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Darian Durant on the changes on the offence, “For the past couple of seasons we’ve been pretty much a veteran offence. Everybody on the offensive side of the ball, we’ve been playing together for some period of time. With a couple of losses that we’ve had, we have to implement some new guys, so it’s a work in progress. The thing about it is the guys are eager to learn, they ask questions each and every day and they have talent. So it’s all about putting it together and them learning the system so they can go out there and do their best.”

On Saturday the Riders will hold their annual Fan Fest Day. The team will practice at 3:15PM with a 60-minute mock game beginning at 4:00PM.

Players and coaches will hit the practice field at Griffiths Stadium for Day 7 of training camp with two practice sessions. The first practice will take place at 9:15AM. Rider Fan Fest Day will take place in the afternoon with the players taking the field at 3:15PM. The on field portion will include a mock game.
