McKenzie Gets Defensive Honours

Saskatchewan Roughrider defensive back Chris McKenzie has been named the CFL’s Gibson’s Finest Defensive Player of the Week.

 

In the Riders 30-20 victory over the Argonauts on Saturday, McKenzie had three defensive tackles, one quarterback sack and one interception which he returned 33 yards for a touchdown. This marked the second consecutive game the Arizona State product had an interception return touchdown.

 

So far this season, McKenzie has tallied 29 defensive tackles, four pass knockdowns, two interceptions both for touchdowns and one quarterback sack.

 

McKenzie joins teammates Craig Butler, Jerrell Freeman and Chris Getzlaf who have also been named CFL players of the week this season.
