Its safe to say the Rider Nation is in a good mood on the eve of Riders training camp starting up. Rider Radio's Michael Ball got a text from John Chick about the same time that Sportnet's (and Sportscage Insider) Arash Madani sent me an e-mail saying the deal was done and that Chick would be returning to the CFL as a member of the green and white and that he will get 120-grand per season.
While Chick's teammates were getting together for pictures and gathering in Regina before heading to Saskatoon, Chick flew straight to Saskatoon where he was met by the CBC's Peter Mills.
Chick told Mills 1. "I loved it here and why wouldn't I want to come back"
2. Since my wife and I left, we have always had some thought about coming back
3. He learned a lot in the NFL and feels he returns to Canada a better player than when he left.
That last statement if true could be what puts this team over the top.
He will be on the field with his teammates tomorrow and I'm guessing will be the star of the show when the first interviews of training camp are conducted.
Chick also spoke to Riderville.com's Dan Plaster. You can look at that right here

He was sacking NFL QB's against the best offensive linemen in the world... He will make mined meat out of CFL linemen again.
