Monday Rider Report

The clouds were ominous and the wasps were annoying. The Riders were back on the practice field in what is a short week for them as they leave for Toronto tomorrow afternoon and Thursday's game against the Argos.  Here's a brief rundown

--Wes Cates looks as if he won't play again and it looks like Hugh Charles may miss this one as well meaning Brandon West would get the start at tailback. Is Yvenson Bernard ready to back him up? If not, is Stu Foord the backup tailback. All of a sudden, the situation at running back is becoming as murky as the one at wide receiver.

--The team held a very brief players only meeting about a half hour before practice ended. It only lasted a couple of minutes and it happened right along the Rider bench. It looked like Darian Durant was in the middle of it, but I could not tell if he was the one who orchestrated the get-together or spoke.

--For what Greg Marshall had to say after practice........

I don't know why Stu Foord doesn't get more touches at RB. Everytime he touches the ball he makes something happen. Using him would free up a roster spot for another position. The Riders better be ready for Toronto. Their offense racked up 500 yards, and Lemon threw for over 300 yards. The way the Riders are playing, they will be 1-7 at the bye week. The Argos are starting to come around. Look out Rider Nation!

Greg Marshall was a DC for 15 years. He interviewed for numerous HC positions and was always the bridesmaid and never the bride. Maybe the Riders are now finding out why. He fails to show the passion and intensity that he showed on the sidelines in Hamilton. Could he be in over his head as a head coach? Maybe. Probably a lifetime co-ordinator like his good friend Richie Hall. Notice any similarities?

Hey Mitch. Maybe the Riders need more players from the UND Fighting Sioux! More guys like Dressler with tons of heart and professionalism.

Mitch, is there any update on Eddie Johnson? Will he play this week? Overall soreness shouldn't keep a kicker out of a game, unless it is more than the team is letting on.

Lee-Anne its "soreness" that was in the locker room in BC right after the game which the team is keeping hush hush. Marshall please resign and take Berry, Hall, Taman and Miller with you.

Hooray! Stu Foord will get to carry to ball some. He can make an impact when he is in there. Curious to see what Dallas Baker is all about. Montreal specializes in finding good receivers, so maybe we stole one! He will probably only know a few plays though. Same with R.J. Roberts. Let's see what they can do. We need Eddie on the roster. He can shift the field for us. Milo has a weak punting leg. I miss the 'stache!
