Can't Ask For Better

We've all been complaining about the weather, and for good reason. May was cold, wet and miserable. I think its safe to say that the nicest night of the year was last night--the temperature was just right, no wind, no mosquitoes. It was a perfect night to watch a baseball game. That's what I did as I checked out the Regina Red Sox's home opener. Its too bad you couldn't bottle last night and use it for future nights because it was simply the perfect picture for a ball game. It wasn't the most aesthetically pleasing game as there were a few errors, but in the end, the Red Sox pulled it out 9-8 with the winning run coming on a wild pitch that scored a runner from 3rd with two outs and two strikes in the 9th. I don't know what today holds, but I'll be back at the ball park tonight when Weyburn visits in a 705 start. I can only hope for a repeat of last night. That might be asking too much, but one can try can't they.

Its a best of 3 for the Stanley Cup. Philly has tied things up with a 5-3 win over Chicago in Game 4. A late Chicago comeback wasn't good enough. If they tie that game up at 4, they likely win it and the series. I'm thinking Game 5 might be the best game we've seen yet and that's saying a lot considering these games have been outstanding. It sounds as if the ratings in the US have been great too, so thats good news all around.

Why is it people have to fly by you on the Ring Road just to take that exit 500 metres later. Getting in behind you and just taking the exit doesn't work anymore?

A day off at Riderville today. Main camp starts tomorrow. I can only guess how many people will be there for Day 1. I'll be one of them. I missed not being there this week.

Somewhere Joe Hadesbeck must be drooling at the thought of getting in behind this! That vehicle really needs to find its way to Mosaic Stadium on game days. Maybe it could be Gainer's new car.

One of the greats in the sports world left us on Friday. Legendary basketball coach John Wooden was 99 years old. Ask any coach in any sport what type of legacy Wooden left and they will answer you. He had many great sayings, I leave you with two of them....
