The
Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today they have signed import defensive back
Rod Williams to the team’s roster. Financial details of the contract were not
released.
Williams (5’11 – 180) joins the Riders after
recently attending training camp with the Minnesota Vikings. The Louisiana
native spent the last three seasons in the CFL with the Edmonton Eskimos
appearing in 44 career games. Last season the 26-year-old had 44 defensive
tackles, four interceptions and two knockdowns in 17 regular season games.
The Alcorn
State product was named a 2011 CFL West Division All-Star after recording 44
defensive tackles and six interceptions in 15 regular season games.
