The Regina Thunder have won the Canadian Junior Football Championship for the first time in franchise history. Thanks to a big afternoon from Asher Hastings, the Thunder beat the Vancouver Island Raiders 55-26 to capture the Canadian Bowl in year 14 of their existence.
Hastings threw for 377 yards while tying a Canadian Bowl record in throwing 5 TD's--2 of them to Mitch Thompson who had 179 yards receiving. Nick Brown had a big afternoon running the football as he scampered for 203 yards including a 48 yarder on the first possession of the 3rd quarter to put the dagger into the BC champs.
