Dickenson Returns To Riderville

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are pleased to announce that Craig Dickenson will return to the Riders coaching staff as Special Teams Coordinator for the 2012 CFL season.

CRAIG DICKENSON – SPECIAL TEAMS COORDINATOR

This will mark Dickenson’s second season with the Green and White as Special Teams Coordinator.

Dickenson spent the 2010 season with the NFL’s Oakland Raiders as assistant special teams coordinator. This was Dickenson’s second stint in the NFL as he spent two years in San Diego as a special teams assistant for the Chargers starting in 2000.

Highly regarded for his special team schemes, Dickenson spent seven seasons with the Calgary Stampeders where he served as their special teams coordinator for five and worked with the running backs and receivers in his first two years with the team. He also spent one season with the Montreal Alouettes as running backs coach in 2003 before returning to the Stamps. Dickenson was a part of the 2008 Grey Cup championship team in Calgary.

Dickenson’s coaching career began at his alma mater – the University of Montana in 1995 when the Grizzlies captured the NCAA Division 1-AA National Championship. His work with kickers and running backs earned him a position with Utah State where he coached before making the move to the NFL.

It sure is awesome to see Craig back! Dickenson should of been the only returning staff member in the whole organization from a league worst 5-13 season IMO

Cut the crap Anonymous ! If you can't say anything more positive, find another forum to show your ignorance. Good move by the Riders to retain CD. The other def coaches will ensure some continuity and retain the culture of winning that we had before last year. The problem was on the offensive side in the last 10 games.

Hey Glenn correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't the purpose of a forum to state your opinion ? The only continuity Hall has is to play a soft D on 2nd and long like he has for years and years. The only people who like Ritchie Hall are the opposing offences including Calgarys as they publicly stated. Whats Halls record against the Stamps lately? Also our O is now being ran by a guy who was the coach of our dreadful receiving corps last year? WTF? I can't wait to see these 2 coordinators back in Gong Show part 2 with all Tamans awesome talent recruiting he brings in year after year. Its people like you Glenn that accept mediocricy, that is part of the reason we have only won 3 grey cups in 100 years.

I agree with anonymous. Craig Dickensen is the only coach from last year that should have been re-hired. The parade out of town should have been led by Richie Hall. Oh well, at least Taman is making his own bed and a year from now he'll be gone. That will be good.

I suppose that if you had spent the majority of your coaching career at an elite level, then your analysis could be considered. But then you'd probably put your name there instead of staying anonymous.

You don't have to be an elite level coach to see that Taman is not a good GM. Records don't lie.
