The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced they have signed import defensive backs Jamar Love and Jeremiah Weatherspoon. The financial details of the signings were not released.
Love (6’1 – 200 lbs) spent time with a number of NFL teams during the past two seasons after initially signing as an undrafted free agent with the New England Patriots. The 24-year-old played four seasons at Arkansas and finished his career with 77 defensive tackles, eight special team tackles and three quarterback sacks.
Weatherspoon (6’2 – 221 lbs) spent time with the Calgary Stampeders in 2010 as well as attended mini camps with Cincinnati and New Orleans. Previous to that, the 24-year-old played four seasons at Florida International University. He finished his college career with 172 total tackles, two forced fumbles and five interceptions for 47 yards.
· The Riders also announced they have released non-import kicker Warren Kean, non-import offensive lineman Bart Archdekin and import defensive back Courtney Robinson.
