A 2-2 record last week leaves me at 32-20 heading into this week. Here are my picks for Week 16.
B.C AT EDMONTON
A huge win by the Lions this week to keep their chances alive at not crossing over. Both of these teams go in with a record of 6-7, and it might be safe to say that the winner stays in the West while the loser will cross-over. B.C has really gotten it together on defence, but can they generate enough points against that Edmonton defence to win. Buck Pierce is still one hit away from perhaps being a charter member in the Dave Dickenson and Eric Lindros fan club and Paris Jackson is out. Edmonton goes in having lost three in a row and four of their last five. This is a tough one to call, but I will go with the Lions.
TORONTO AT SASKATCHEWAN
It will be cold, it could be snowy. It will have a playoff feel to it...oh wait, the Riders are playing the woeful Argonauts. With Toronto's offence struggling the way it has, (they didn't throw a TD pass in all of September) the Rider defence should have an easy time of it. However, Toronto's defence is no slouch when they are not on the field all the time. I think if the forecast holds true, there could be a lot of Wes Cates in the equation. Rider fans, at least some of them, think Cates has lost a step or two. Cates may prove them wrong. Take the Riders and take them by a couple of TD's.
CALGARY AT MONTREAL
The Alouettes have wrapped up the East and will not play a meaningful game until the Eastern Division final. The Stampeders are fighting to hold onto first in the West. This could very well be a Grey Cup preview. Calgary is the hungrier team, but Montreal remembers what happened the last time the two teams played in Montreal and if this is a Grey Cup preview, they want to let Calgary know it might be different this year than last. Marc Trestman will have his team ready. Take Montreal in a tight one.
WINNIPEG AT HAMILTON
This could very well be the Bombers tell-all game of 2009. They have won their last two and with a win, could be tied with Hamilton for 2nd in the East. With all the great things Hamilton has done and all the poor things Winnipeg has done, its hard to believe that, but its true. Have the Bombers hit their stride? Is all the good that Hamilton has given themselves this year going out the window. I think the Ti-Cats win this one, but it will be close.
-------
I forgot to mention that besides the Pats game tonite, the Rams are also in action as they play Simon Fraser at Mosaic at 7. If you don't want to go to the Pats game, (and why wouldn't you seeing they are playing the number one team in Canada) then head over to Mosaic and cheer the Rams on to what hopefully is a win.

I hope you're right about the Riders winning by 2 TD's+. My spider senses tell me a field goal, or less, or even GULP...(fill in the bad word that starts with "L")
