Another Award For Andy

Saskatchewan Roughrider slotback Andy Fantuz has been named the Gibson’s Finest Canadian Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.

The Western Ontario was unanimously selected for the weekly award after tallying six catches for 114 yards and one touchdown in the team’s 27-16 win over the Argonauts in Toronto on Saturday. That performance put Fantuz at 1,058 receiving yards for the season, marking the first time in his career he has surpassed 1,000 yards.

Fantuz was named Gibson’s Finest Canadian Player of the Week in the opening week of the season as well as in week 5 and week 12. He was also named Offensive Player of the Week in week 12 and received the monthly honours as Top Canadian for both July and September. He joins teammates James Patrick, Jerrell Freeman, Brent Hawkins, Luca Congi and Darian Durant who have all been named Gibson’s Finest Players of the Week so far this season.
