Canada will begin its quest for gold at the 2012 world junior hockey championship in a group with the rival Americans that will play out of Edmonton.
Finland, the Czech Republic and Denmark will also play out of Group B in the next tournament's preliminary round, Hockey Canada and the host committee announced Friday.
Russia, which scored five times in the third period to beat Canada 5-3 in this year's final on Wednesday, will play out of Group A in Calgary along with Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia and Latvia.
Canada settled for silver for a second straight year Wednesday, while the United States beat Sweden for bronze.
All playoff, relegation and medal games at the next championship will be played in Calgary.
The tournament runs Dec. 26-Jan. 5, with the final schedule to be set over the coming months. Canada is hosting the championship for the 10th time.
