By George, The Riders Have A New D Lineman

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today they have signed import defensive lineman Tearrius George to a contract. The financial details were not released.

George (6’4 – 263 lbs) spent three seasons with the Calgary Stampeders. The Kansas State product has played in a total of 32 regular season CFL games and tallied 56 defensive tackles, ten sacks, three fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. In 2010, George dressed in eight games while starting on the defensive line in four. He finished the season with four tackles, one quarterback sack and one fumble recovery.

The 28-year-old entered the CFL in 2007 when he signed as a free agent with the Stamps after spending a season with the New York Jets. In 2008, George returned to the NFL where he spent time with the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins before returning to Calgary in September, 2009.
