The
Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today that import quarterback Adam Weber has
signed with the team. As per club policy financial details of the contract were
not released.
Weber (6’3 – 210) joins the Riders after
spending the last three seasons in the National Football League. The Minnesota
native spent the 2011 season on the Denver Broncos practice roster after
originally signing with the team as an undrafted free agent. He spent parts of
the next two seasons on Tampa Bay’s practice roster after signing with the
Buccaneers in September of 2012.
Before going
pro, Weber spent four seasons at the University of Minnesota where he played 50
career collegiate games. The 26-year-old holds the Golden Gopher career record
and ranks third all-time in Big Ten passing yards with 10,917 and touchdowns
with 72. He was named to the 2007 Big Ten All-Freshmen team after throwing for
2,895 yards and 24 touchdowns; both single season school records.

The Riders also announced they have released
non-import fullback Daryl Stephenson and import defensive lineman Lindsey
Witten.
