Riders Sign Quarterback

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today that import quarterback Adam Weber has signed with the team. As per club policy financial details of the contract were not released.

Weber (6’3 – 210) joins the Riders after spending the last three seasons in the National Football League. The Minnesota native spent the 2011 season on the Denver Broncos practice roster after originally signing with the team as an undrafted free agent. He spent parts of the next two seasons on Tampa Bay’s practice roster after signing with the Buccaneers in September of 2012.

Before going pro, Weber spent four seasons at the University of Minnesota where he played 50 career collegiate games. The 26-year-old holds the Golden Gopher career record and ranks third all-time in Big Ten passing yards with 10,917 and touchdowns with 72. He was named to the 2007 Big Ten All-Freshmen team after throwing for 2,895 yards and 24 touchdowns; both single season school records.

·         The Riders also announced they have released non-import fullback Daryl Stephenson and import defensive lineman Lindsey Witten.
