The
Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today international defensive back Tristan
Jackson and national linebacker Kevin Regimbald have signed extensions to
remain with the team. As per club policy, details of the contracts were not
released.
Jackson (5’8 – 185) will
remain in Green and White for his fifth season and eighth in the CFL. The
Central Arkansas product spent three years with the Edmonton Eskimos before
being acquired by the Riders in March, 2011. He re-signed with the team as a
free agent in August, 2013.
Last
season the 28-year-old started 18 regular season games at cornerback where he
totaled 47 defensive tackles, six knockdowns, and tied for the team lead with
four interceptions. He also led the league in kickoff return yards with 954 and
missed field goal return yards with 267; including a 111 yard return for a
touchdown. Jackson’s 1,531 total return yards were also a league
high.
Regimbald (6’1 – 225) will
return for his third year in the CFL. The Riders originally selected the Quebec
native in the 5th round (35th overall) of the 2012 Draft
before he joined the team in 2013 for his first season.
Last season, the
27-year-old played eight regular season games, registering six special teams
tackles, before suffering a season ending knee injury. Through his first two
seasons the University of Sherbrooke product has registered 10 special teams
tackles in 14 regular season games.
Both players were
eligible to become free agents on February 10th.

The Riders also announced they have agreed to trade the
rights of national kicker John Mark to the Ottawa Redblacks in exchange for a
conditional 2016 CFL Draft pick.

I don't mind a lot of moves Taman has made, but trading Mark for nothing is a mistake. Mark is better than Milo IMHO.

It wouldn't have broken my heart if TJack wasn't back. Returners are a dime a dozen and he's too short in my mind to be a corner. Gets beat on deep ball too much because receivers are too tall.
