There is word that Richie Hall could be coaching his last game for the Edmonton Eskimos should they lose today at Mosaic Stadium. The word is he will be let go as he will take the fall for the team's 0-3 start. Does this mean the return of the garden gnome? Is Danny Macioccia coming back? Some have said Dan Kepley might get the gig? If anything is happening, CFL eyes will be on Edmonton should the Riders win.

I can't believe the backlash by some on the Andy Fantuz request to wear black. Some fans don't want to for whatever reason. Why? This isn't a wholesale change. Its a one game thing. The Riders are asking YOU to do this. They are asking their loyal fans for a favour. The only team wearing green on the Taylor Field turf tomorrow will be the Eskimos. That jersey can stay in the closet for one game. Get your black on Saskatchewan! You can do it!

Tom Higgins should be embarassed and so should Marc Cohon. CFL officials seemingly missed an obvious call during the TiCats-Bombers game. Kevin Glenn had clearly fumbled with Winnipeg recovering, but the refs and Higgins awarded the ball back to the Ti-Cats. I don't understand it and even though TSN tried to explain it, it still doesn't make a lot of sense. Methinks the CFL did a hasty job in sending a release to Randorf and company.

I didn't see the Montreal-BC game so I can't comment. One friend of mine did text me saying it may have been the worst CFL game he has seen in a long time. Was it?

I'm not one to go on rides at the exhibition. I certainly won't be after reading this.

An 11 run 5th helped the Regina Red Sox crush Weyburn 20-9. Anthony Rodriguez, David Fox and Eric McKinney all had 4 hits while Mitch MacDonald drove in 4 while going 3 for 6 at the plate. MacDonald is now hitting 475 on the season.

Do you think Mike Fisher is concerned about Senators training camp right now?

See ya at the game. Check out my pre-game piece on Riderville.com if you get the chance.

It's not the officials fault, it's Jake Ireland's. He's the only one looking at the replay and has the option to make the correct call. Sure they missed it on the field, but Ireland's really effing up if he still can't get it right after a review.
I didn't see the play until the late night news and then heard the supposed explanation. As a football official, the only thing I can say is, yes it was a fumble but because thw whistle went while thw ball was loose it had to be ruled as an inadvertent whistle.
Under that ruke (as I understand it) the ball goes back to the team last in possession of the ball and then given a choice - take the ball at the spot where the player was halted and downs continue or redo the last play. Not sure that helps but asking a former coach to explain a rule the officials have trouble explaining may cause confusion. When I chat about it on my blog on Monday I'll know more of the specifics, and I'll also likely be talking about how the Esks blew another one.
I agree, the blown fumble call from the B.C./MTL game was out of this world. Definitely, the worst call in many, many years in the CFL, and quite the cop-out explanation from the league. If I was Lapo, a tape would be going to Higgins, Cohan, etc, and an apology would be necessary in the least. A bush call for sure. If that would of happened in Riderville, a riot would break out and Mr. Cohan wouldn't be able to come back to Regina for a coin toss for a damn long time.
In addition to the botched call on the Glenn fumble, there was a similar failure by the replay officials in Wednesday's Toronto/Calgary game where Jermaine Copeman's catch was ruled incomplete.
