Riders Add RB And WR
The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today that they have signed import receiver Justin Harper and import running back DeShawn Wynn to contracts. Financial details of the signings were not released.
Harper (6’4 – 213 lbs) was a seventh round pick by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2009 NFL Draft and spent the following three seasons with the team at which time he was teammates with current Rider receiver Ernie Wheelwright.
The 27-year-old played in 51 games during his four-year career at Virginia Tech finishing with 83 catches for 1,338 yards and nine touchdowns. In the 2008 Orange Bowl Harper scored on an 84-yard punt return.
Wynn (5’11 – 232 lbs) was a seventh round pick by the Green Bay Packers in the 2007 NFL Draft. The 28-year-old spent three seasons with the Packers and as a rookie scored his first two touchdowns in week two of the 2007 season. He played in 16 games with the Packers and tallied 64 carries for 332 yards and five touchdowns while adding 14 receptions for 122 yards. Wynn went on to spend time with the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers in 2010 and played in seven games before returning to the Saints in 2011.
The Florida product tallied 2,077 rushing yards, 376 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns during his four years with the Gators.

Wynn is a guy that I actually remember seeing play. There's going to be a lot of good players at camp. Brendan must have obviously gotten a new shipment of napkins.
