Tom Renney's time as head coach of the Edmonton Oilers appears to be done after two seasons.
According to a team tweet, Oilers general manager Steve Tambellini has announced the club will not renew Renney's contract.
After finishing the season with the NHL's second- worst record, the Oilers decided to part ways with the 10th coach in their franchise's history.
Hired in 2010, Renney led the Oilers to a 25-45-12 record in his first season with the club. Last season, the team finished 32-40-10 and once again found themselves in last place in the league.
Prior to his time in Edmonton, Renney served as a head coach of the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks.
