The Roughriders altered their draft order when they completed a trade with the Calgary Stampeders. The Riders receive Calgary's 2nd round (12th)overall selection and 5th round (35
th overall) while the Stampeders will receive Saskatchewan's 3rd round (15th overall) and a second round pick in the 2013 CFL Canadian Draft.
With their second round selection (12th overall), the Riders selected University of Calgary linebacker Sam Hurl. Hurl has twice been named the Canada West Defensive Player of the Year. Hurl led the Dino's last season with 97 defensive tackles and four tackles for a loss.
In the 5th round (35th overall), the Riders selected linebacker Kevin Regimbald-Gagne from Sherbrooke. Regimbald-Gagne was named a 1st Team CIS All-Canadian and tallied 40 defensive tackles last season for Sherbrooke. He was also named to the RSEQ all-star team in each of the past two seasons.
With the Riders final pick in the sixth round (39th overall), the Riders selected receiver Ismael Bamba from Sherbrooke. Bamba was one of the top receivers in the CIS after transferring from the University of North Dakota.
