Less than 24 hours after Chris Weidman pulled out of the main event of UFC 199 on June 4, Luke Rockhold has his new opponent.
President Dana White says Michael Bisping will step into the octagon to battle for the middleweight crown.
Weidman had to back out saying in a Facebook post he has a "large extrusion herniation" in his neck that will require surgery
Rockhold (15-2), who captured the title from Weidman via fourth-round TKO in December, has history with Bisping (28-7) as the two middleweights headlined a November 2014 card in Australia. Rockhold dominated that fight and won by second-round submission.
