Leafs Write Letter To Fans

If you are a Leafs fan, you know how bad your team has been over the past few years. If you're not a Leafs fan, you know how bad your team has been over the past few years. After another disappointing season, the team has written an open letter to its fans apologizing for what happened on the ice this season.

While I do admire the Leafs for making this move, I also can't help but question it and wonder if it was really necessary.  Have the Oilers done this over the past few years? Would the Regina Pats have ever considered this during their lean years and did the Riders do this after their woeful season last year. The answer is no! Teams have to look inside to realize what is wrong with their organization and not say sorry to their fans for a season gone bad. The Oilers knew there was going to be an extreme rough patch as they rebuild their franchise. I thought this was the year they challenged for a playoff spot, but they didn't leaving me disappointed. I'm still a fan and I don't need an apology to keep me one. The Pats made the necessary changes to become a playoff team again and I think the team is now on the right path after the right changes were made. The Riders certainly went out and made the changes they think is necessary to become a Grey Cup contender again in a league where that can happen immediately.

Yes, the Leafs fan-base is angry and so they should. I'm guessing Montreal fans aren't feeling any better, but I don't see any open letters to their fans.

I'd like to know what you think if you are a Leafs fan or not. Was this move necessary or is it just a p-r stunt? Comment away!

As a Leafs fan I just want answers. This team has floundered and floundered and done nothing for years. What is the plan? Burke keeps saying he wants to build a winner but that isn't happening. Tell me what the plan is! Its just one excuse after another.

Burke has made some bad decisions no doubt about it, but he is trying to clean up the mess that Ferguson left behind and he was trying to clean up the mess Fletcher left behind. There is a lot of work that has to be done. Schenn needs a new start so trade him, move Kadri if you can too.
If the Leafs win the lottery tonight. I would trade the pick and collect as much riches as you can. Like I said at work today, I wouldn't be surprised to see Bettman "fix" it somehow to get Toronto that pick. He would for sure if someone like Tavares or Crosby were available.

It's easy to say you're sorry, now you have to show your sorry...parents say this all the time to little kids..talk without action is just noise pollution...

BTW doesn't an apology sometimes mean you knew a better way, but didn't choose it and now want to correct that...no secret you build from the net out...time to deal for a goalie that can make a difference..
..Schneider for Schenn plus pick???...hold open tryouts for penalty killers?

There are some good players on the Leafs (Lupul, Kessel, Gardiner, Phaneuf, Bozak) but there are way too many guys dragging this team down. Komisarek, Schenn, Connolly, Steckel, etc. etc. etc. Guys like Grabovski, Kadri, Liles should be trade bait for draft picks and prospects. Yes that will mean a couple of more lean seasons but at least there should be a light at the end of whats been a very dark tunnel.
