If you haven't heard, the four winners of the Western Canadian Junior A leagues, (BC, Alberta, Sask and Manitoba) along with a host team will compete in a Western championship starting next season. It means the end of BC and Alberta teams battling for the Doyle Cup and Saskatchewan and Manitoba teams vying for the ANAVET Cup.
The first WC will go in Nanaimo next season, but it seems as if there are some details that need to be worked out.

This championship is bad for the SJHL. There is no way they can compete with the AJ and BC because they have the best players. I hope Weyburn beats Humboldt so that there is a chance of two teams being in RBC. It may be the last Sask teams we see there for quite a while.
I know you're not with the league anymore Mitch, but what's your take on this.
Dustin
Gotta agree with anon 1. The SJHL isn't even close to the talent level of BC and Alberta. I think they railroaded their weak sisters (SJ/MJ) into this one.
If Bill Chow had anything to do with it, chances are its a bad move. Would you concur Mr. Blair?
