While driving past Mosaic Stadium Friday afternoon, I noticed that the banners of Ron Lancaster and George Reed have been taken down. They have been replaced by ones featuring Kent Austin and Roger Aldag.
Nothing against Kent and Roger, but you can't replace Ronnie and George can you? I'm not really sure how I feel about this.

What's the reason for this?
Say it isn"t so!
Lets not squeeze the juice out of the watermelon here people. Nothing wrong with Austin and Aldag either.
Ronnie and George are the Riders! You can't replace those two. Bad move!

I would much rather have a picture of Ridgway up there than Austin. While he did QB and coach us to a championship, he also left us at the altar twice. That shouldn't be forgotten in Rider lore but it seemingly is.

This doesn't bother me any. Roger and Kent are also two of the Rider greats.
That's blasphemy!!! Is this a late April fools joke?
We all knew the banners were going to be changed every now and then. What is the big deal. Austin was part of two grey cups with the Riders. How many players/coaches can say that?
Thumbs down for me. Ronnie and George are the best Riders ever to wear the uniform.

Kent and Roger are great Riders, but they are not Ronnie and George. The Riders most famous players are Ronnie and George. I don't like this.

Can we live in the past forever? Ronnie and George and the rest of the 1966 Team gave us our 1st ever Grey Cup. How many other 1966 players who also contributed to the win can anyone name?
I think we do a disservice to all the other Rider players by only honouring those two all the time. Geez people 1966 was 46 years ago already.
I think we need a bigger stadium, if only to enable more banners, yes to Aldag, Austin, Reed and Lancaster but there are at least four more that would be nice to see.
