CFL Commissioner Jeffrey Orridge Weighs In on Coaches Shuffle

 Image result for jeffrey orridge

Effective immediately, there will be a moratorium on any coaches’ movement from one Club to another Club, unless such transaction is expressly approved in writing by the Commissioner or his delegate, prior to the movement taking place. This only applies to coaches who are currently under contract with a CFL Club.
For greater clarity, no Member Club or any person connected directly or indirectly with the Club will be allowed to have any contact or discussions with a CFL coach currently under contract with another Club, unless:
(a) permission in writing has been first obtained from the coach’s current Club (President or General Manager) to engage in such discussions and express permission has been granted to enter into a contract with the other Club, and
(b) approval in writing by the Commissioner or his delegate copied to both Clubs and the coach, for the coach to engage in such discussions with the other Club.
Furthermore, the fact that a CFL coach currently under contract attempts to resign with his current Club in order to sign with another Club will not void or circumvent the two pre-conditions above for the duration of the coach’s contract, provided that the coach’s contract is legally enforceable.
This moratorium will be in place until further notice.

How about you fix yourself so called lame ass officiating crew first who can't even call a obvious pass interference or holding and than worry about coaches jumping back and forth to other teams Jeffrey Orridge.

A very weak proclomation by a very weak Canadian Football League commisioner. I've perused this from a legal perspective as a legal begal and have come to the conclusive conclusion this guy is a bonofide nut bag who's way in over his head trying to run a professional sports league.

Ottawa must think they have some pretty big boots at the table after what they did this year. They seem to have developed a sense of entitlement they don't deserve. They started this whole mess by asking for something in return for Maas. Say no when the Eskimos called and this matter is over with.

If the Alouettes have a contract with Thorpe's name on it, shouldn't the Eskimos have one with Chris Jones' signature on it? Reynolds ruined it for everyone. #justsayin

#justsayinstupid. Reynolds ruined nothing for anyone butt munch. Every coach writes in a professional advancement clause in their contracts. The Riders really didn't need Edmonton's permission much like when Edmonton hired Hall away from us to be their HC. It's just professional courtesy is all. They can't stop anyone from an advancement position. Hervey then rightfully hired Maas and now perhaps Thorpe. Thorpe's may not be an advancement however. The thing is Popp took over a job that Thorpe thought would have been his, so he was sort of stabbed in the back by Popp. The league gave Ottawa a sweetheart deal to come into the league again and it hurt many teams including the Riders. They got no right to say anything. I thing they took their HC from Calgary.

The coaches from Edmonton had expiring contracts and were not re-signing with Edmonton anyway. Jackson was even offered a promotion and still left. Maybe this tells you more about Hervey than anything else. By paying a guy to do three jobs Reynolds probably saved the team money. It was one stop shopping. Besides a GM, he got a HC, DC, and almost a full coaching staff. They can hit the ground running now and that's a huge advantage. Reynolds was freaking brilliant in his decision and tactics. To suggest Reynolds ruined anything shows what an imbecilic moron you are!
