Fantasy sports fans will soon be able to bet on their favourite Canadian Football League players.
Online daily fantasy sports site DraftKings has announced it will host CFL contests for the first time when the season kicks off June 23.
The Boston-based company and the CFL will operate several contests without an entry free.
DraftKings says it hopes to expand the partnership to future seasons.
Sites like DraftKings allow users to make a team from athletes in major league sports and compete for cash based on their team members' performance in real life.
Online fantasy sports has surged in popularity recently, with the number of players in North America growing by 15 per cent over the last two years, according to the Fantasy Sports Trade Association.
