Here Comes The Rider Loonie!
ROYAL CANADIAN MINT SET TO LAUNCH ONE-DOLLAR CIRCULATION COIN COMMEMORATING SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS’ CENTENNIAL
In celebration of the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ 100th anniversary, the Royal Canadian Mint is proud to join Saskatchewan Roughriders and Federal Government representatives in officially unveiling a new commemorative one-dollar circulation coin honouring this legendary team and its generations of loyal fans.
The coin will enter general circulation beginning September 2, 2010, following the public
unveiling of the coin at Regina’s Northgate Mall. A public coin exchange will immediately follow the unveiling. The Mint is delighted to give the many supporters of Rider Nation a unique means of celebrating their team’s Centennial and the great traditions of Canadian football.
The Roughriders will also be making the coin available to the public through coin exchanges at their team stores in Regina and Saskatoon at the following locations, subsequent to the unveiling:
