The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today they have released import defensive back Omarr Morgan.

“We thank Omarr for his years of service to the team and the tremendous leadership he provided on the field and in the locker room,” stated Vice-President of Football Operations Ken Miller. “We will miss his day-to-day contributions and wish him all the best.”

The veteran has spent a decade with the Green and White and played in 174 regular season games. In that time he has amassed 556 defensive tackles, 36 special teams tackles, 26 interceptions for 399 yards and 10 fumble recoveries.

he will now never get to win a cup with the riders. how sad. He should have never left in 2007.

I wish him well. All the best Omarr.

So much for winning a ring. He probably just hates the fact he was in Edmonton when they won in 07.

With Alexander gone, I'm guessing this means Nick Graham and Kornegay will man the corners.

Omarr holds the CFL record for the longest fumble return. (108 yards)

That was a great fumble return for TD (108yds). I remember that huge Eskimos O lineman never giving up all the way to the endzone, ha ha . And yes, this guy's biggest regret of career has to be going to Eskimos in 2007 and missing his Grey Cup ring.
