How?

Like it or not, get ready for another week of Tebow talk. The Denver Broncos quarterback continues to be as polarizing a figure as there is in sports after another amazing victory to send his team into the 2nd round of the playoffs against Tom Brady and the Patriots.

What would the odds have been in Vegas that Tebow would throw for over 300 yards against a Pittsburgh defence that was number one in the NFL. That is what he did. It wasn't pretty, but he was better than Ben Roethlisberger when it counted and as a result the Broncos are moving on in the NFL playoffs thanks to a dramatic, albeit short overtime victory. On the first play of OT, Tebow hit Demariyus Thomas in stride and the receiver took it the remaining 50 or so yards for a touchdown to end it. Of course, the NFL has a new overtime rule in place for the playoffs in which the other team is supposed to touch the ball unless the team that gets the ball to start overtime gets a TD on their first drive. Some don't like it, but I say if you can't stop a team from moving 80 or so yards and getting a TD then too bad. Stop them and have a chance to win a game. If you get a three and out, you get the ball at your own 40 and your chances of winning are greater.

The other playoff game Saturday was disappointing as far as I was concerned. I thought the Atlanta Falcons would give the New York Giants everything they could handle and then some. I thought the Falcons could win this one. NOPE! The Falcons remain one of those teams that I just can't put a finger on as they looked horrible losing 24-2. A lot of questionable coaching decisions by Falcons Head Coach Mike Smith in this one---especially on short yardage plays. The Falcons are a good regular season team, but they have been knocked off in the playoffs the last three years in their first try. I thought if any team would throw a monkeywrench into the anticipated Saints-Packers matchup it would be them.

The Saints did nothing to show me that they shouldn't be considered as the favourite to win the NFC should they play the Packers. Drew Brees and company seemingly can't be stopped as the Saints ran roughshod over the Lions on Saturday. You can't touch Brees, he has several running backs who can gain yards on the ground and his receiving talent may be 2nd to none in the NFL. I get the feeling that unless weather plays a factor, a game between Green Bay and New Orleans at Lambeau could be who gets to 40 first.

The Indianapolis Colts are said to be interested in Alouettes GM Jim Popp. No doubt Marc Trestman would like to return to the NFL. If Popp gets the job, would he can Jim Caldwell and bring Trestman with him? Trestman would work well with first round draft choice to be Andrew Luck and he may even be able to teach Peyton Manning a thing or two if Manning stays with the Colts.

Why wasn't the Boston-Vancouver Stanley Cup rematch on HNIC Saturday afternoon? For that matter, why was this marquee matchup an afternoon affair? The teams hate one another and it showed making one wonder how good a Stanley Cup final between these two would be again.

Who would your goalies be for the 2014 Canadian Olympic team right now.

NHL fans might want to start preparing for another work stoppage. If new players union head Donald Fehr would not accept the re-alignment proposal, its a direct shot over the bow. Fehr is a hard-ass and he won't have any problems in seeing a season get shut down if it means he gets his way. Just look at what happened to baseball when he was head of the players association. Hockey fans should be scared----very scared. If Gary Bettman thought he had problems with Bob Goodenow, he hasn't seen anything yet.

I'm not sure, but Charles Barkley's Saturday Night Live gig may have been the best one with an athlete as host and that includes the highly funny Peyton Manning episode.

Trestman will go back to the NFL at some point. I could see Popp taking him with him if he gets the job.

Barkley was hilarious.

There is no way the Pats trade Weal. Chad would be crazy if he did so now.

When did Doug Berry become the Falcons offensive co-ordinator?

How can anyone doubt Tebow anymore? How? The guy is money when it counts. If McGahee doesn't fumble, the Broncos win that game going away. They were the better team.

Tebow = magic. Not spectacular but sure gets the job done when it counts! Reminds me of Kerry Joseph in 07.
