The UFC is coming to Cowtown.
As first reported by QMI Agency three months ago, the UFC is tentatively set to host an event at the Scotiabank Saddledome in July.
A senior UFC source confirmed the plan with QMI Agency, adding that while the fight club is looking for a July 21 event, the date has not been finalized.
“It’s safe to say that we are coming and we are looking around that date, but the final contract has not been signed yet,” said the source.
There have been no fights announced for the card.
Online reports said the UFC is also looking at two other Canadian dates for events this year in Toronto and Montreal.
The world-famous Calgary Stampede is celebrating its 100th anniversary and if the UFC event goes on the 21st, it will take place the first Saturday after the Stampede wraps up.
