The Toronto Blue Jays have traded RHP Roy Halladay and cash considerations to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for RHP Kyle Drabek, OF Michael Taylor and C Travis d'Arnaud. Subsequently OF Michael Taylor was traded to the Oakland Athletics in exchange for INF Brett Wallace.
Halladay, 32, pitched all 12 of his seasons in a Blue Jays uniform after being a first round selection (17th overall) by Toronto in 1995. The Denver, Colorado native finished the 2009 season ranking 1st in Blue jays history in winning percentage (.661), 2nd in wins (148), 2nd in strikeouts (1495), 3rd in starts (287), 3rd in complete games (49) and 3rd in innings pitched (2046.2).
Drabek, 22, the Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Year, pitched at two levels last season, starting at High-A, with Clearwater and finishing at AA with Reading, posting a combined 12-3 record with a 3.19 ERA. The 6'1" 190 lb. right-hander was the Phillies 1st round pick in 2006, being selected 18th overall.
d'Arnaud, 20, spent last season at Lakewood, posting a .255 average with 38 doubles, 13 home runs and 71 RBI. The Lakewood, California native was selected 37th overall in 2007, as a first round supplemental pick by the Phillies
Wallace, 23, split time among three clubs after being acquired by the Athletics as part of the Matt Holliday trade with St. Louis last season. The 6'2" 205 lb. left-handed hitter hit a combined .293 with 20 home runs and 63 RBI in 2009. Wallace was originally selected 13th overall by St. Louis in the first round of 2008.
