The Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club announced today the team will stay home for training camp in 2010 with both rookie camp and main training camp set to take place at Mosaic Stadium in Regina.
The team had investigated the option of hosting camp in Saskatoon, but due to a conflict of facility availability, nothing could be solidified for this season.
“We had really hoped to travel to Saskatoon for camp this year, but there were already some events booked for the days we needed, so unfortunately it just didn’t work out,” stated President/CEO Jim Hopson. “We have already started the process of solidifying all necessary facilities for next year, and have high hopes we can get locked in to hold training camp in Saskatoon in 2011.”
Rookies will get their first taste of CFL football on June 2nd- 4th at Mosaic Stadium. Then all players will hit the turf when main training camp kicks off with two practices on Sunday June 6, 2010 at Mosaic Stadium.
The Green and White will see pre-season action on June 13th at home against the B.C. Lions and then will travel to Calgary on Sunday June 20th to conclude training camp.
The defending West Division Champs will kick off the 2010 CFL regular season on July 1st at Mosaic Stadium when the Montreal Alouettes will be in town, setting the stage for a Grey Cup re-match.
