Tedious TV At Its Best

Canada is hockey and on a day that is the NHL trade deadline, both TSN and Sportsnet are dedicating the entire day to covering trades and trying to beat one another. What it ends up being is several hours of tap-dancing. I haven't watched a second of Sportsnet's coverage, but I'm sure its the same as what I've seen on TSN this morning. That is a whole lot of basically nothing. James Duthie has assembled the entire panel and then some. They are talking about everything except what they had for breakfast, and that might come up at some point.

I'm not sure why the need is there to give us eight hours of trade deadline coverage when you get conversation like this. Have the networks not learned from previous years? Its better than some of the other gruel that TSN and Sportsnet feed us on a daily basis, but they could have come on two or three hours before the deadline and had a much better show.

If there is any highlight of today, it is the fact TSN's Jay Onrait has his "TradeCentre" blog. It is highly amusing. Jay has a special guest with him at his "home" today. If you watched the Olympics, you know Onrait was partnered with CTV's Beverly Thomson. She has graciously decided to throw her career down the sewer(tongue in cheek) by joining Jay and fawning over a Gino Reda firemans calendar.

One other thing of note was former Sabre, Islander, Leaf and Oiler Mike Peca was asked to give his 2014 Canadian Olympic team(have we really started to discuss that?) and he has Jordan Eberle on it. Good job Mike!

Dennis Seidenberg has never had as much popularity as he has over the past 15 minutes.

Did CJME use to have Mitch mugs? HA HA!

I'd rather have this than some of the afternoon programming that both networks give us.

Mitch mugs? No how about Mitch big gulp cups or slurpee cups. That is more down your avenue!

Wait until the Oilers do something stupid and trade Eberle for Lecavalier! I'm guessing you would go postal Mitch!

Mitch Slurpee Cups. Nice!

Darren, I'm coming to your workplace to personally kill you if that deal or any deal involving Eberle takes place. That isn't even funny!
