One and Done For Jay Livingston

Jay Livingston will not return as Head Coach for the Regina Red Sox for the 2014 season.

"Jay and I met to debrief the season and talk about the future," said Bernie Eiswirth, General Manager of the Regina Red Sox. "We came to a mutual conclusion that Jay is not able to give the Red Sox the time commitment we expect.  We parted on good terms and we wish Jay all the best in his future endeavors."

The Red Sox will now start the process of searching for a new Head Coach.

The Regina Red Sox have been playing in the 11 team Western Major Baseball League for nine years.

You could see something coming! After finally elevating their play to Championship quality, this year was turd. They were under .500 and went out mealy in the first round. No good team should implode like this. Very clearly the lesson learned is that you have to load up each and every year. Yesterday don't matter to anyone. This is what happens when you rest on your laurels. I think Bernie is a good baseball man. He will be very very aggressive this off season and the Sox will be back with a vengeance next season.

This should not come as surprising news.

Jay was in a no-win situation. Eiswirth and Chepuschak (sp) set the bar extremely high and he didn't have the ability to match it. Cut him a little slack.
